Voting closes at midnight on Wednesday 6th May
The deadline is fast approaching for FWA members to cast their votes for The Footballer of the Year and the Women’s Footballer of the Year.
Voting closes at midnight on Wednesday, and for any members or student members yet to vote, you can click on the link sent to you via email and enter your unique code.

The vote is completely open and you can vote for any player in the English professional game – which obviously excludes those playing abroad
A reminder that when the original FWA Committee drew up the award in 1947, they decreed it should be awarded: “to the professional player who by precept and example is considered by a ballot of members to be the Footballer of the Year.”
Sporting conduct on and off the field, was and to some extent still is, considered by our members to be as important in principle as a player’s ability and achievements. It was fitting that our first winner was Sir Stanley Matthews, the first knight of the English game.
This year’s winners will be announced on Friday May 8, and awards will be presented at our annual Footballer of the Year dinner at The Landmark London on Tuesday May 19.
