The longlists for the three FWA Student Football Writer of the Year Awards are published below. These are the top submissions from among the hundreds of entries we received. Being on the longlist is some result given that the overall standard was excellent once again. The next generation of football writers promises to be of the highest quality. To mark their achievement, those who are named on the longlists will be invited to an England match at Wembley over the course of the next season to sit in the press box as a guest of the FA.
The longlists are currently being considered by a panel of judges including Jacqui Oatley, Michael Calvin, John Cross, Jason Burt, Sami Mokbel and Alyson Rudd. The shortlists will be revealed on 6 May with the winners presented their prizes at FWA Footballer of the Year dinner on 22 May.
