Eight trophy-winning managers from clubs in the North to be honoured on October 20.
EIGHT managers including Pep Guardiola, Erik Ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp will be honoured at the Northern FWA Dinner on Sunday, October 20.
The annual Managers’ Awards Dinner recognises bosses in the North who have won trophies the previous season.
This year’s recipients include two from both of Manchester’s big two – City and United.
City’s Guardiola won the Premier League, the Club World Cup and the European Super Cup and the Blues also lifted the FA Youth Cup, under the stewardship of Ben Wilkinson – son of Howard, the former title-winning Leeds boss.
United achieved a men’s and women’s FA Cup double through managers Erik ten Hag and Marc Skinner.
Jurgen Klopp, in what proved to be his final season at Liverpool, won the Carabao Cup.
Dave Challinor and Phil Parkinson, promotion winners at Stockport and Wrexham, will be honoured again as they continue to be regular recipients at this function.
And Gateshead’s former Newcastle goalkeeper, Rob Elliot, won the FA Trophy.
The FWA (North) Managers’ Awards Dinner is at The Edwardian, Free Trade Hall, Peter Street, Manchester.
Tickets cost £75 for FWA members and £85 for non-members and guests for a four-course dinner at the iconic, five-star Manchester hotel.
The event is supported by the FWA’s family of sponsors and tickets can be ordered by contacting northern secretary Paul Hetherington.
He can be contacted on [email protected] or 07771 933242.
