Manchester United manager in sparkling form as the FWA honoured those managers of northern clubs who won trophies last season.
Erik Ten Hag was in sparkling form as he collected his award from Andy Dunn of the FWA for winning the cup with Manchester United last season.
The Dutchman gave a witty and engaging speech as he accepted his award, joking with journalists that they should try a ‘job-swap’ with him ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Fenerbahce this week.
He also made the point that United are moving in the right direction and asked for patience.

Jurgen Klopp was unable to attend, having left Liverpool and taken up a new role with Red Bull, and Pep Guardiola, whose team were playing at Wolves on Sunday afternoon, sent a video message of thanks.
Also at the dinner, at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Manchester, to collect their awards were Phil Parkinson of Wrexham, Dave Challinor of Stockport County, Rob Elliot, who won the FA Trophy with Gateshead and Ben Wilkinson, coach of Manchester City’s FA Youth Cup-winning team, who was sitting with his father Howard, the former Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday manager.
Ian Dennis was master of ceremonies and Andy Dunn, chair of the FWA Northern branch, thanked his colleagues Paul Hetherington, Steve Bates and Martin Blackburn for helping to organise the event.
Also in attendance from the FWA National Committee were Chair John Cross, Chief Executive Paul McCarthy, Gerry Cox and Sami Mokbel.
