Scott Parker receives FWA managerial award 14 years after being voted The Footballer of the Year.

SCOTT PARKER has completed a Football Writers’ Association player-manager double.
The former England midfielder was voted Footballer of the Year in 2011 when he was a West Ham player.
And he has now been honoured by the FWA for his managerial skills, after leading Burnley to promotion to the Premier League.
Parker received his trophy at the annual FWA (North) Managers’ Awards Dinner at the Edwardian Hotel in Manchester’s iconic Free Trade Hall.
The Burnley boss was one of five managers to collect their awards in person, alongside fellow promotion-winners Phil Parkinson (Wrexham), Darren Moore (Port Vale), Graham Alexander (Bradford City) and Micky Mellon (Oldham Athletic).
Liverpool legend and Anfield ambassador Gary McAllister received Arne Slot’s award on behalf of the Premier League title-winning manager.
Newcastle’s Eddie Howe and Doncaster’s Grant McCann will receive their trophies at a later date, as will Sunderland’s Régis Le Bris, who sent a video to express his gratitude for the award.
The event, the first under the Lyle and Scott banner – the new title sponsors of the FWA – also raised money for the Burns Unit at Liverpool’s Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
A substantial sum was raised with further donations to come.
The dinner was superbly hosted by BBC Radio 5 Live’s Ian Dennis.
