FULHAM FANS LAUNCH THE FULLBROOK FUND
Fulham fans have come together to launch a fund to support the football correspondents of the future in memory of Danny Fullbrook.
On 1 August, which would have been the former chief football correspondent of the Daily Star’s birthday, the Fullbrook Fund was launched on https://hammyend.com/ , the leading Fulham fans’ website, which Danny was instrumental in setting up 20 years ago. The Fullbrook Fund will formalise a scholarship scheme run by the Fulham fans’ website, which has helped more than thirty young writers into journalism since Danny’s sad passing from cancer in 2012.
The Fullbrook Fund also aims to solidify Danny’s legacy at his beloved Fulham Football Club by furthering the work of the award-winning Fulham Foundation in providing opportunities to young people through sport and continue the crucial work of cancer charity Maggie’s, who provide specialist care and support from a pioneering unit at Charing Cross Hospital on the Fulham Palace Road.

Dan Crawford, the editor of Hammyend, said: ‘Danny was an inspiration to me and so many other young football fanatics who dreamed of a career covering the beautiful game. We have been blown away by the support of FWA members since our event celebrating his life at Craven Cottage last summer and now want to ensure that his legacy includes making a lasting difference at Fulham. We are excited to be able to expand our small scheme into something more substantial as well as supporting the superb work of the Fulham Foundation and Maggie’s in his memory.’
